RACHEL SMITH

Rachel Smith grew up in a Christian home in Palmer, Alaska, and was saved at a young age. As a little girl, her mother would see Rachel practicing her piano and think, “God just might have her in ministry one day.” She has a passion for music and teaching, and for serving the Lord with her talents. She became the pianist for her small church in Alaska at 9 years old (out of necessity, not skill!), and has enjoyed serving the Lord through church music ever since.

She and her husband, Evangelist Justyn Smith, met at Christian college, and have been married for 18 wonderful years. Justyn and Rachel have served the Lord in full-time Christian service since their marriage in 2007. The Smiths traveled in the itinerant traveling ministry of Evangelism in their early years as a couple, then were led to pastor a precious church family in Peoria, IL for 6 years. It was during this time the Lord saw fit to bless them with a daughter, Lydia Grace, after 9 years of marriage. Rachel loves sharing her testimony of how the Lord used the trial of barrenness in her life. At the end of 2019, they felt the Lord clearly leading them back into Evangelism full-time and they enjoy traveling together as a family.

The Smiths love to minister wherever the Lord leads. Rachel often sings and plays the piano during Revivals and Teen Conferences, and has spoken at various ladies events. She homeschools their daughter, Lydia, who is in third grade, and also teaches 2nd grade online through a Christian school in Milwaukee.

Rachel’s favorite Bible verse is Psalm 28:7 “The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him.”
